What the course covers

The course will help you understand why change happens, how it happens and what needs to be done to not only overcome resistance but manage it in such a way that the changes really ‘stick’. You will get a complete guide to the models and tools for managing change and opportunities to practise, working on real scenarios.

The syllabus and exams for this qualification have been created in partnership with the Change Management Institute (CMI) and are based on The Effective Change Manager’s Handbook. ChangeQuest Founder and Lead trainer Ranjit Sidhu was one of four experts that compiled the Change Management Institute’s first Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK), and is also one of the authors for The Effective Change Manager’s Handbook.

Timings* for open course:

Change Management Foundation Level (3 days)

  • Day 1: 9.00am – 5.30pm
  • Day 2: 9.00am – 5.30pm
  • Day 3: 9.00am – 5.30pm (including 40 minutes Foundation Exam)

Change Management Practitioner Level (2 days)

  • Day 4: 9.00am – 5.30pm
  • Day 5: 9.00am – 1.00pm (including 2.5 hours Practitioner Exam)

Gaining the qualification

Change Management Foundation level exam

  • Tests knowledge and understanding
  • Takes place on morning of third day
  • Multiple-choice format and closed book
  • 40 minutes duration, with 50 questions
  • Pass mark 50%

You need to have achieved the Foundation level certification to go on to the Practitioner level.

Change Management Practitioner level exam

  • Tests application of theory to a given scenario
  • Takes place on morning of fifth day
  • Multiple-choice format and open book
  • 2.5 hours duration, with 80 questions
  • Pass mark 50%

Change Management in-company classroom courses

The Change Management Foundation and Practitioner certification can help organisations ensure that their key people and teams have high levels of competency to address the process and people aspects of change – an essential step towards successful business transformation.

Training to meet your specific needs

In-company training allows you to see your specific processes, and internal language reflected throughout the course. This means that the full context of your change programme – including the pace of change, the teams affected, and the level of change that’s considered ‘normal’ for you, will be taken into consideration. It also means your teams can incorporate their ‘work in progress’ into course exercises and activities, making the programme even more relevant and effective.

In-company training:

Change Management in-company webinar courses

This accredited change management qualification allows organisations to make sure their people and teams can get the best from their transformation programmes, by understanding both the people and the process aspects of change.

Webinar training is a time efficient and cost effective way to benefit from high quality training, from the convenience of your home, office or any other location. This is a great way for teams spread across different locations to train together, without the overhead of travel costs.

You can elect to run the complete course via webinars or choose a blended option combining webinars and onsite training.

Webinar course structure:

  • 7 live 3 hour webinars
  • Webinars are fully interactive, with group discussions and activities
  • Covers the full course syllabus plus exam preparation
  • Webinar recordings are available to everyone on the course
  • Access to our online learning platform offers networking and collaboration facilities and access to all course materials

You can take your exams via the ProctorU online exam body at a time that suits you. You will need high speed internet access, and a webcam to enable invigilation.

Webinar and classroom course structure:

Our blended option combines webinars and onsite training. This includes:

  • 4 live 3 hour webinars (covers most of the Foundation syllabus)
  • 2 days onsite classroom training
  • Day 1 onsite – recaps on the topics covered and completes the Foundation syllabus and the Foundation exam (40 minutes). Day 1 also covers the Practitioner level topics
  • Day 2 onsite – includes preparation for the Practitioner exam, which is taken in the afternoon
