Q. How interactive are your classes?

Q. You say you take time to focus on the needs of the learner. How can you guarantee getting through a qualification syllabus in the fixed time available?

We will always cover the complete syllabus for any qualification. Remember that the syllabuses have been put together by experts who know what will be relevant for your work. So we look at these topics from your perspective, but cover the knowledge you need.

Q. What does brain-friendly learning mean?

All our courses are uniquely designed to use the latest brain-friendly learning methods, so you can learn and have fun at the same time! Our methods include discussions, mind mapping, story-telling and using popular linkages – for instance with well known films, or items currently in the news

Q. What is NLP?

NLP, or Neuro Linguistic Programming, is the study of what makes people ‘tick’. Briefly, ‘Neuro’ is to do with the brain, ‘Linguistic’ is about language and communication, and ‘Programming’ refers to the structures or patterns of behaviour that we use. The field of NLP began with the work of John Grinder and Richard Bandler in the 1970s; notably ‘Frogs into Princes’ (1979)2. They were psychology and linguistics scholars who investigated and modelled exceptional people. Together they created a set of tools and techniques that can be learned by anyone to improve their personal and professional effectiveness.

Q. What is Change Management?

Change Management is a blend of managing the delivery of change whilst supporting people through the emotional side of change.

Q. Can you tell me about the awarding bodies for the qualifications courses?

The awarding body for the Change, AgilePM, Managing Benefits and Facilitation certifications global examination institute is APMG-International. PRINCE2®, and MSP® are certified by AXELOS. APMG-International is a global examination institute and the official accreditor of the UK Cabinet Office. ChangeQuest has been accredited by APMG and AXELOS to deliver training and is subject to an annual, rigorous assessment process to confirm the quality.

Only accredited training providers or their affiliates can provide courses and exams in APMG-International and AXELOS qualification schemes.

Q. Are there any prerequisites for the qualifications courses?

There are no prerequisites for the Foundation qualifications. For the Practitioner level exams, you need to have completed and passed the Foundation level.

Q. What is the difference between a Foundation and a Practitioner course?

The Foundation level provides knowledge of the principles involved, for those who need to grasp the terminology used and the theory behind the practice. It also acts as the introduction to the Practitioner qualification.

The Practitioner level measures how well you can tailor and apply the management approaches and techniques by presenting you with problems within a given scenario/case study. The Foundation level paper is a 1 hour multiple-choice paper which tests knowledge.

The Practitioner level is an open book exam, which tests how you would apply the theories to a given scenario. This is also in multiple choice format, but uses a more complex style of questioning.

Q. I would like to take both the Foundation and Practitioner level courses but not in the same week, what are my options?

You can take the Foundation course and then attend the Practitioner course at a later date, when it suits you best. Please call to have a chat about what would work best for you.

Q. Are these qualifications international, or only recognised in the UK?

APMG qualifications are internationally recognised, reflecting this awarding body’s increasing global presence. APMG has branches in Australasia, China, Malaysia, Benelux, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia and the USA.

Q. How best can I prepare for the qualifications courses?

Both the Change Management and Agile Project Management courses have a set syllabus which forms the basis of the exams. You will be sent the pre-course materials about three weeks before the course so you have a chance to become familiar with the main areas covered. We will focus on understanding the theory and how to apply it in the ‘real world’. You’ll benefit most if you complete the pre-course study beforehand, so that you can build on the ideas and gain confidence working with the models and techniques throughout the course.

It’s also important to be clear on your outcomes and what you really want to get from the course.

Q. How do I pay for my course?

You can pay using any of the normal methods such as credit/debit card, BACS transfer, cheque or by company purchase order.

Q. What happens if I book the course and then have to delay or cancel?

Once your booking is confirmed, if you wish to cancel, you can do so at no extra cost, as long as it is more than 30 calendar days before the booked course date. If late cancellation occurs, the following scale applies:

  • Between 30 and 15 calendar days of the course date, 50% of the fee is charged.
  • If 15 calendar days or less before the course date 100% of the fee is charged.

You may transfer to another event. If the transfer is made less than 30 days before the event 80% of your payment will be credited to another event.

Or you may substitute another person at any time prior to the event with no additional charge – just let us know their name.

Q. What do I need to bring with me for a course?

We provide all the course materials including pens and paper for note taking, refreshments and lunches. You need to bring your enthusiasm and energy.

Q. What additional support is available?

Before the course, during the pre-course study – you can contact our trainer, at any time, with questions. We’ll also help with any extra logistics, such as arranging a taxi to the venue.

It’s important to put learning into action as soon as you can after the course – to help you do this we offer follow-on coaching to help you as and when you need it.
